Convention 

What do convention mean?

Convention are accepted ways of using media codes. Convention are closely connected to the audience expectations in a media project.

Form convention are a certain ways we expect the media codes to be arranged. For instance the audience expecting to have the title of the movie in the beginning of the film rather than in the end credits. 

Story convention

Examples of  this convention include narrative structure, cause and effect, character construction and point of view. 


Genre convention 

Genre conventions point to common sue of tropes, characters, settings of themes in a particular type of medium. Genre convention are closely linked with audience expectations. Genre convention can be thematic or formal.
