What do convention mean?
Convention are accepted ways of using media codes. Convention are closely connected to the audience expectations in a media project.
Different types of conventions-
Form convention
Form convention are a certain ways we expect the media codes to be arranged. For instance the audience expecting to have the title of the movie in the beginning of the film rather than in the end credits.
Story convention
Story conventions are common narrative structure and understandings that are common in story telling media projects. Examples of this convention include narrative structure, cause and effect, character construction and point of view. Genre convention
Genre conventions point to common sue of tropes, characters, settings of themes in a particular type of medium. Genre convention are closely linked with audience expectations. Genre convention can be thematic or formal.
