Dark Knight

The Dark knight is directed by Christopher Nolan. The
opening scene doesn’t have any opening credits so the only resembles to the tittle
is the blue flame which separate to make a bat shape to show that is a batman
movie. The scene opens with a long shot which establish the fact that this is a
commercial area with high rise glass building which scream the word business. The
background score throughout the opening sequence is the same which is a tense, suspenseful
music to create an effect of mystery.
The frame changes to a high angle to show the props which are
guns and other high technology equipment. The camera angle also gives an estimate
of the height of the building. The frame changes to static scene on the side
walk where a man is standing at a junction with a joker mask and a duffle bag
which create an impression that there are weapons in the bag. The man face is not
shown which creates an image of a mysteries and dark kind of character and also
shows that he is out looking for blood. The camera movement is a zoom in on the
mask to show the emphasis on the mask.
The scene shifts attention from the man standing to him
walking towards the black van where his wears his mask to hide his identity for
his heist mates. From the van to the two people who broke the window which is a
steady shot. The angle changes to a bird’s eye view\overhead shot to create a
great sense of scale and movement.
A ground level shot is taken when the land on the roof after
ziplining from the glass window. The camera shot being a ground level shot the
scene also shows the broken window to create a dramatic effect. The scene
changes to the van with three people which is a mid-shot. Th enst frame shows the
shallow dept of field.
The next scene is a high angle with the camera movement of tilt
to show that the character is picking up the tools and then breaking the control
box.
The last scene of the opening sequence to 2 mins is a low
angle to give emphasis on the power which is followed by a camera movement of
tracking the thief\Joker. This is also an establishment shot of a bank.
