James Wan (born 26 February 1977) is a Malaysian-born Australian film director, screenwriter, and producer.
Wan is known for directing the horror film Saw(2004) and creating Billy the puppet. He also directed Dead Silence and Death Sentence (both 2007), Insidious (2010), The Conjuring and Insidious: chapter 2 (both 2013), Furious 7(2015), The Conjuring 2 (2016) and (2018). Furious 7 and Aquaman each grossed over $1 billion, making Wan the eighth director with two films in the $1 billion club.
The trade mark of James Wan is that he loves using Ventriloquist dolls in movies for example the movie Saw. In all his movies he uses backward tracking shot. In each movie his characters are often ordinary people forced into horrible situations, such as parents trying to save or protect their children. He well-known for directing horror films.
